The Hysteria Project: Hystory

Edhadeya

Part II: Rapid Advancement

In those days, Hysteria was pretty much stock, so I already knew most of the quests. As a result, running to Wiz was a simple matter of ripping through some quests and getting points. I don't know exactly how long it took, but it wasn't terribly long before I'd made it to the ranks of the Immortal.

A short time later, Fulk was looking for some people who could go through help and info files and make changes as necessary: add files, remove files, update existing files, that kind of thing. I was one of three people who volunteered and were accepted, and, for my trouble, I was given a MasterWizard (level 5000 at the time). Not long after that, there was some restructuring at the power level and in late October, I, along with two others, was offered an ArchWizard position. So in two short months, I went from running on the game to helping run the game.

Some time later, I believe early the next year, I was promoted to Messiah and began doing some very basic coding. There I stayed for quite some time, until, sometime down the line, and again, I do not remember exactly when, I was promoted to Creator, a true keeper of the game. From that day forward, Hysteria was literally partially mine. Hysteria was always Zen's, conceptualized by Fulk, and now, "owned" and run by Fulk, Saraph and myself.

This is partly why Hysteria always meant so much to me, and still does. I had gone from a level one mortal, with no more involvement with the game than any given newbie, to Creator, the ultimate level... five nines. And part owner.
